“I am not getting up until I have gained Enlightenment. I may die here. Flesh may wither away, blood may dry up, but until I’ve gained Enlightenment I’m not getting up from this seat.”
For the Buddha it was Enlightenment or death. No other option. He’d reached crisis point.
Yet it was in this crisis that he broke through into Buddhahood - into complete and irreversible freedom from all limitations. And we can do the same - if we learn to meet those crisis moments in our lives with real awareness.
Through talks, meditations, discussions and ritual, we’ll spend the weekend exploring how to harness life’s pivotal moments. So join us on this Early Spring weekend retreat for anyone aged 18-30 – whether you’re brand new to meditation and Buddhism, or have lots of experience.
Retreat leaders: Satyasthana, Subhabhasa and team
Retreat type: YOUNG PEOPLE'S RETREAT
These retreats are for those aged 18-30 interested in Buddhism and meditation (no previous experience necessary). While Rivendell is a Buddhist retreat centre, you don't have to consider yourself a Buddhist to benefit from these retreats.
We ask you to read our FAQs before booking on a retreat.
